Top five brand ambassadors who don't use their product!
Posted 8 years ago
Celebrity endorsements are the best way for a brand to showcase their offerings effectively. The face of a renowned celebrity associated to a product can do wonders for its sales and goodwill in the market. In this article, we comment on whether well-known figures actually use the products they've chosen to promote.
Shah Rukh Khan and Emami
Emami launched its fairness cream, Fair and Handsome in the year 2005. It was seen that 30% of people using fairness creams were males. Shah Rukh Khan was the perfect celebrity to endorse the brand as the plot of the ad merged with his story to stardom. But, does the great SRK really use the fairness cream himself on a daily basis or at all for that matter? Well, we highly doubt he needs to use fairness creams to get by his daily schedule as India’s leading celebrity!
Salman Khan and Relaxo
Relaxo is the second largest producer of footwear in the country. With the launch of their Hawaii slippers that showcase strength, durability and style paired together, the brand needed a personality that possessed all these qualities. Who better than the heart throb of India, Salman Khan himself! Even though his personality fits in perfectly with the brands mission, we're reasonably sure he doesn’t actually wear Relaxo footwear on a daily basis. What do you think?
Akshay Kumar and Dollar Club
Ever since Akshay Kumar became the brand ambassador for Dollar Club inner wear, Dollar Industries Ltd. has witnessed exponential growth. The aim of the TVC featuring Akshay Kumar was to show that you don’t need a fit body but also a fit mind to overcome obstacles. Would Akshay Kumar actually wear Dollar Club inner wear as opposed to several other high end competitors in the market?
Ranbir Kapoor and Nissan
Ranbir Kapoor has been associated with Nissan for a while now. Starting with the Micra, he’s appeared in a few TVC’s rolled out by the company which really helped hype their new age image. Even though Ranbir owns a fleet of luxury cars, he’s yet to add a Nissan automobile to his large collection.
Priyanka Chopra and Rajnigandha
Priyanka Chopra began endorsing Rajnigandha Silver Pearl Elaichi earlier this year. The aim of the TVC was to highlight all attributes of Priyanka Chopra that seemed to work perfectly with the motive of the ad. But could Priyanka Chopra actually be using a Rajnigandha product in real life? It just doesn’t seem to add up!
There are many more celebrities who couldn't possibly be consumers of what they advertise, and we'd love to hear the one's you find most ridiculous.
